Well I am already long distance from mine... but I swear away rotations are SO much different then when he is at home in Philly.

They are so consumed with what is going on over there that everything kinda changes... I am not sure that I have anything wonderful and exciting to suggest but I hope the time flies by for you!!!

(I blog about my distance all the time so you can check that out if you'd like! - help pass the time ;) )

I'm in the same boat my husband just left for a 2 month rotation is in Nashville while I'm back in KC. I have activities planned nearly every weekday with the kids to keep us all busy and wear us out to help the days pass by quickly. I personally think the weekends will be the hardest since that's normally when we'd spend time as a family if he wasn't working. My in-laws are coming up mid-month to stay for nearly a week so I'll take advantage of that time and get out in the evenings with friends so that'll be nice to socialize without the kids! All I know I should be able to stay caught up with all my shows I DVR and do lots of reading since there's not much else to do once the kids are in bed :-) Good luck!

That is so hard. BUT it's Philly!! Thats where I am from and I swear there is so much to do! Chestnut Hill festival this weekend, Peddlers Village Apple Festival coming up. Even though my bf is only an MSIII he doesnt go to those things anyway so I do them on my own anyway :)

My husband is currently home this week but he was gone the last two months, and will be gone starting on sunday for another month!
I've tried to stay busy by working out more, baking (and bringing in the treats to work so I don't eat them all myself), organizing things (pantry, desk, pictures) and doing things that I wouldn't ordinarily have the time to do if he were around (reading/blogging). Is there something you've always wanted to do or try but you haven't had the time? Now is the time to try it! It is hard but hopefully it will go by quickly!

My hubby, too, is gone for away rotations. It's horrible! He's been away for TWO months and will be gone for TWO MORE! I can hardly stand it - we are so close that it's very difficult on us to be away from each other :( We talk every night, though, and that helps; plus, we email during the day when we can. I've gone to visit him twice and wish I could go more, but money and time won't allow it. I'm a teacher and stay quite busy with that - I also coach so that consumes a great deal of my evening time. I suggest getting involved with some sort of group - maybe a book club? Hang in there - it'll be over before we know it!

This post speaks to me. My Dr H started residency in another state and I'm behind with the kids waiting (and waiting and waiting) for our house to sell. It's been a full 4 months and we've seen him 3 times. The only suggestion I have is hurry and have lots of kids...keeps you really busy going places, slightly insane and there's plenty housework to do (but it is still is very very lonely!!!) I'm interested in ideas also!

We did 7 months apart. Ugh. I wouldn't suggest it. ;o) To stay sane, I went to the gym every single weekday. It gave me time away from kids and ya know exercise feels great!

Because I couldn't afford to get a sitter, I missed out on a lot of activities. It was pretty lonely. I didn't get out much. So, I started this blog. haha! Not that you should go start a blog, but sometimes our virtual friends can be very helpful! So can our real friends. Come hang out with me. :o) There is a book club meeting if you want to come!
