So, The Question Is......

After reading the comments to my last post, I came up with this question for all of you.

Does he pull his weight around the house when he has time off?

I have to say mine absolutely does. Just this week he had some time off. He didn't help around the house with cleaning, but he helped with the boys, mowed the yard and worked on sealing all the windows in the house. He also showed me how to put a new air filter on the car (Ha! So I can do it when he cannot) and did the dishes and cooked once!! I ALMOST had a sort-of vacation too!

Time off ROCKS!!!

Mine is really good, and I am so thankful but then I get used to it so during his busy weeks I get overwhelmed. Part of me doesn't want his help because I want to get used of how it will be during residency... but then the other part of me realizes that I will be doing it all during residency so I will have no choice but to get used to it!

Since I've been ill for over a year and now pregnant, Tommy has really helped out alot. He has always been great about just doing things he sees that need to be done or asking if I need help with anything. It's funny though, in the past 2 weeks since we are officially finished with Medschool, he has been doing ALOT more, just to give me a break and to stay busy and he has made some comments that I think are so funny.

He was like "where does all this laundry comr from, I think we need to start wearing our clothes a couple more days before we wash" jokingly of course! And also was like, "this cooking at every meal is wearing me out!" Hahaha

I think this is sooooo funny because he really does tons of stuff around the house and always has since the day we got married, but doing it all, not just helping has opened his eyes! Luv you Bunny!

Fiance does a great job and pulls MORE than his own weight when he's not in a busy month... obviously, when he's out of the state for an entire MONTH (now!!!), I'm on my own to do everything short of taking care of his car. He does a great job of cooking dinner when I'm working a 12-hour shift, but I'm finding that I'm doing more and more as he gets busier in his rotations. Can't complain too much though... not every month is insane and he does his best.

My hubby will do things around the house if I ask, or if I get so overwhelmed and frustrated that I start complaining! ;) He's really good about helping with our son, but I also know when he needs his space to just relax. I've been used to doing everything for a while, and, although I sort of resented it during his residency (especially after our son was born and I felt really overwhelmed), I've let my feelings go and just do it. Sometimes I still feel like he should be helping out more, and then, I remember that I'm the one who's always home, so why should I ask him when he works so hard? I definitely get my breaks, too, so I can't complain. One thing I love is he likes to grill, and when we're going to have company over, he really gets in gear and helps clean! ;)

Brad is amazingly helpful when he is home. Just the best. Of course, he hasn't lived with us for 6 months now, so yeah, I pretty much do everything. I know he would help if he were here, he just isn't here.

Ben is really good at helping me around the house and with the children. I know he is busy. I respect that. He knows that I had a busy day too, and we might as well work as a team for a few hours of the day. I love it when he has the time to help me. I am happier when he is home. Ben loves to play with the kids. Bedtime is something we do together every night that he is home. The kids love bedtime because they get mom and dad's undivided attention. We both love it when the kids are in bed and we can just sit and relax together. :)

Ed is also really good about playing with the kids. We both agree that with our limited time he should spend as much time with the kids as possible. Housework stuff can come later.

He also does bath duty most nights too! That is enough for me for the most part. I have recently noticed that he doesn't have time to do most car/home maintenance. At first it bothered me and I resented it. Now I have just started taking the opinion that if I want it done (who cares if it is right), I need to do it myself.

He helps when he can, but I have had to become much more self-sufficient lately.

I often joke with him about what we will do to entertain ourselves when I see him more! Personally, I think it will be good that he is making more money, because we tend to spend lots more when we are all together.
