Poll

New one is up. Comment on last week's?

We didn't match and had the joy of scrambling. All I have to say about the experience is leave it in the Lord's hands and you will end up where you need to be. :o)

We had to scramble too, into a different specialty he wasn't thrilled about. He ended up switching again in PGY2, to a third specialty, but I think this was the right one. If he had matched the first time I think he would have just done an additional residency after being unhappy with the first.

So, well said, it's in the Lord's hands. What we thought was the long way around was probably actually the shortest route.

Ah! Talk to me in 4 days, lol. "Black Monday" is right around the corner...
Glad to read scramble success stories, though!

My husband "Suicided it" for Match Day when he was an M4. That meant that he only ranked one program. Unfortunately, he didn't match...but he did do a research fellowship during his year off. We had an infant at the time and didn't want to move out of state so this worked out well for us.

The next year, he matched at his first choice program. We are so lucky to be here! But that first match day was a horrible affair. I still remember being SICK with dread!
