Kindling

What do you ladies do with your DH's medical magazines? I count about 9 different journals and magazines that come to our house automatically, and they end up untouched, stacked up on the floor in our den. Right now the stacks are knee-high and I end up just vacuuming around them. I know he intends to get around to them, but as a resident he barely has time for his regular reading and research projects, much less for all this extra reading. Would he miss them if I just threw all but the most recent issues in the recycling bin?? Should I save them for packing paper when we have to move for fellowship? Any organizing tips or advice would be great! Thanks!

I throw them all in the trash, but I wouldn't do it without asking him first.

I usually throw them away after they have sat on the counter for a couple week. He has never read one of them, actually, a lot of time I read them because there is usually something interesting on the cover or something about woman's health in them, hehe. But I have been saving them lately to tear apart for wrapping items in moving boxes.

We have a basket in one of our bathrooms (I call it his reading room) and I put them all in there. I usually look at them first because they have job openings in the back. I circle the ones he might be interested in and put them in his basket. He gets around to reading them eventually and when he's finished we recycle.

Ours are piling up as well, but we have agreed they need to go in the recycle because once residency starts he won't have time to read them!

I put them in his pile. He pretends he has time to read them. And then he gives them back to me for recycling. :o)

I also like the Jama art article and then scan for anything that would apply to our family. Now that he is in residency he wants to read the Ophtho magazines but hasn't had time this first year before OCAPS, so for not we've stacked them in his office for after the exam when he just might have some "free" time. I like the bathroom idea as well and if all else fails I will recycle them:). Wish I had time to read them and just tell him about the interesting stuff, or the training for that matter:).

I put them as bathroom reading material, which he promises me he reads. I then stack them away ready for recycling.

My husband insisted I keep them so he could read them. Then he moved out-of-state for residency and all the magazines still come to me and I chuck them. When he's home for vacation or a couple of days I noticed he NEVER reads them. So now the go from the mailbox to the outside garbage can and it makes me sooooo happy.
