Carol said...: Holidays are just different when you're in residency, and you adapt. My husband had to work and was on call Thanksgiving, but was able to get home in time to share a cozy dinner on Friday. He had to work on our anniversary, and Valentines Day, etc. etc. so we celebrated some other day when we had the chance. We make our own holidays!; December 8, 2009 at 8:26 AM

For future years I will celebrate with extended family on the big day and hopefully on the Friday (or weekends around Thanksgiving) we can celebrate again with our parents and siblings - I am hoping they will be flexible!); December 8, 2009 at 10:31 AM
