Has reading a book ever changed your life? Which one and why, if yes?

This may not be what you're looking for, but absolutely yes, many times over. Principal among these books are the scriptures, because they teach me how to be a happier person by putting others ahead of myself.
Next come books that challenge the news narrative, because you learn so much that the news types suppress or ignore but stuff that should be in the news regardless. Such as a book by Andrew Breitbart called "Righteous Indignation," and plenty of others like it.
I also love any book that puts me in someone else's shoes, to understand their challenges even though I hope to never experiences them myself, at least I can learn to be understanding and nonjudgemental. Sometimes historical fiction is good for this. Sometimes nonfiction. I love Chaim Potok's and Pearl S. Buck's books for these reasons.
I hope that helps you. Sorry if it doesn't.
