Poll - How was this year compared to last year?

Only a couple of months left until we add another year! How was this year compared to last year?

I have to say that I love Senior Call and this year has been great. Only one more to go (give or take a fellowship)!

This was our first year of residency so the amount of call was a little bit of a shock, (I voted "a little worse" this year than the craziness of 4th year) but I am so grateful that our program really sticks to the 80 hour cap. Still hard, but the residents are constantly reminded by the attendings who suffered through 100 hour weeks that they now have it "easy".

This year has been no different than last year in anesthesia. Anything was better than our one year in surgery!!!!

This past year was my soon to be DrH's PGY4 and he was out rotating the entire year! I haven’t lived with my fiancé in 12 months! At times it has been very hard so I CAN NOT wait until this year is over!! Although, I doubt his last year is going to be any different but at least we can get back to sleeping in the same bed at night. Being that he is going to be an orthopedic surgeon, I just know this life is not going to get any easier with him gone all the time. I’m just glad I found this website to see other people’s perspectives so I know that I’m not alone!

My hubby is less than a month from graduating and 2 from starting residency. This year was more stressful than all so far until the mathc and it's slowly come down since then. These last few months leading up to graduation have been heavely with low stress and low work load. I keep telling myself just to enjoy it while it lasts! Mostly I'm sad to see my freinds move away for hubby's residency. That is the hardest part right now.

My fiance is wrapping up his second year of general surgery and I think it was a little rougher for him. We've been told that it gets better after this, so we're hopeful . I mean, I don't know how it could get worse (Fingers crossed I hope I haven't just jinxed things)!
