Poll

Okay ladies, a new poll is up! Seeing how often many of us eat without our hubbies makes me wonder if we are willing to cook on the nights he isn't home. :o)

Any thoughts or comments on last week's poll? I voted once or twice. I know once a week he has a meeting until 9 pm. And sometimes he'll be home late or get called in, but that is usually only once a week or less. How about you, ladies?

One of the biggest lessons we've learned since entering residency: Eating out is EXPENSIVE!! We were wasting tons of money on food, when I could have been cooking the same kind of food at home.

We rarely eat out mostly due to the expense but also seeing that we can't afford to eat at Morton's every time you just get sick of the fast/medicore restaurant food. I prepare our meals. We're part of a CSA right now, so it's been awesome getting local and yummy veggies. It can get boring after awhile, I'm always looking for new things to try. But eating in has saved a ton of money for us, especially since we are a family of 5. DH also takes a packed lunch.

I cook regardless if he is going to make it home or not. Kids have to eat too. I am sure it might be different if we didn't have the kids. I put the kids to bed at 8pm so if dad doesn't make it home in time, he just heats up a plate. Right now he is on tumor/spine and typically makes it home for dinner unless he is on call.

We usually eat out on the weekends so I voted 2-3 times. I *love* eating out. :)

I love eating out because it means that no effort is put into cooking--but it's too expensive so we may do it once a month, depending on schedules and how we're doing on our budget. It's just the two of us, so if he's not going to be home, I don't make the effort and just settle for leftovers.
