There are 5 of us, so try someone else if you aren't getting a response. All 5 of us have things going on that might mean we aren't as available for this blog. Thanks for your understanding.

Keely, the comments weren't closed because of you. :o) We just couldn't see much good from continuing a debate that involved belittling. There have been apologies made for unintentional offenses, and I hope that we can all be forgiving. I didn't agree with things that were said either, and I said so. I don't think that insulting other people is the way to present your opinions. There are polite ways to disagree, and I hope we can use them. Thanks!Melisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06853815094926344439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733275816481882855.post-38218137847666432482010-11-21T17:56:40.080-05:002010-11-21T17:56:40.080-05:00What is IMSN?What is IMSN?Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17913129188586123637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733275816481882855.post-57167570197672026612010-11-19T00:42:39.556-05:002010-11-19T00:42:39.556-05:00I was just thinking earlier today how much I love ...I was just thinking earlier today how much I love this blog because you can actually HAVE an opinion. I have also been a member of imsn and it is not the case over there. AT ALL. Here, I have been welcomed with open arms. Even if I am not MARRIED to my doctor friend. He is my best friend and the person I am going to spend the rest of my life with. I can ask "stupid" questions here, I can whine, I can complain and I can read about people going through the very same thing.
Yes, we have to give a lot of ourselves while navigating ourselves down this road of medicine.
It would be really great if we could support each other through the good AND the bad.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733275816481882855.post-40964643613968495972010-11-19T00:41:44.531-05:002010-11-19T00:41:44.531-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01344568544923593635noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733275816481882855.post-21750107988433339622010-11-17T14:08:31.808-05:002010-11-17T14:08:31.808-05:00I often struggle with my present.

I have met many of the members in real life. We come from many backgrounds and have differing opinions. Which is fantastic. I have met amazing people and learned many things from other members. We have helped members through cancer, babies dying, divorce, and spouses being kicked out of programs. We debate, we disagree, we get angry. However, as a community we don't accept the practice of members degrading others as a means to justify their situation. The instances that this has occurred, it is called out and it is NEVER tolerated or considered acceptable.

"I don't belong here. I didn't drop out of school. I don't have 3 babies by 3 daddies."

I am dumbfounded by the abundance of members of this blog who find this type of behavior acceptable and have gone to great lengths to defend, justify, and preserve the ability to do so.

I am not a victim. Every day I make a choice to stay on this course with my kids and my husband. Doing so does not make me a hero of some sort. The obtainment of higher education is still an opportunity that many people don't get to have in this country. How many people don't get into university? How many people don't graduate from university? How many people apply and don't get into medical school? How many people do not match into their chosen specialty? Being a doctor is an opportunity that most people don't get to have. I am grateful for this opportunity. I am blessed to get to live the life that I live. I watch my parents struggle in this economy to raise my two brothers. There will never come a day where my stepfather makes 45k one day and 250k the next. There are many days that I want to curl up in a ball and cry. Half the time I feel one step away from crazy. But I am blessed. The road is hard and I speak openly about this. But never do I resort to degrading others to justify my situation or to make myself feel better. Having a B.Sc. is an achievement that gives me great intrinsic value. I feel better about me being the best me I can be, not better than someone else who was not able to accomplish what I have accomplished.

I have asked nicely twice via emails, and now I am asking a third time. After this comment and request, I will no longer be contributing to this blog. I have deleted my posting privileges. I obviously can't force you to do it, but I would greatly appreciate it if my name and link is removed from the Contributor's List. Thank you. Things got a little feisty, bu...And K- I agree :0)

Things got a little feisty, but I feel like Thefamousstacie handled the whole situation in a very adult manner. No one wants comments like on youtube- where everyone hates everyone for no reason- but I have to admit, I was a little shocked that the comments were disabled after mine...I really didn't think I was being out of line, I was just sharing a story about being broke- and if I offended someone I would have liked the chance to apologize or clarify something I may have miscommunicated...since it is easy for things to come out wrong.

But in any case- thanks for the reminder of how blessed we really are. Even when times are hard I know we are headed down an amazing path and I'm glad to have this blog to keep up with everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!Keelyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06755470782008399889noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733275816481882855.post-53786761519972736072010-11-16T19:47:38.212-05:002010-11-16T19:47:38.212-05:00Frankly the blog is more real when there is lively...Frankly the blog is more real when there is lively debate. Sure, there will always be someone who lashes out with some abusive comment but as we have seen, the fellow Drs Wives have put those poeple in their place immediately! I don't think there is anything to worry about. Why censor? We're all adults. I know I can handle disagreements and even insults thrown in my direction. Can't anyone else?Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17913129188586123637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733275816481882855.post-32544936106089391442010-11-16T19:13:44.597-05:002010-11-16T19:13:44.597-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00282099593877623959noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733275816481882855.post-7011801677948005812010-11-16T19:12:49.970-05:002010-11-16T19:12:49.970-05:00Amen and AMEN! Let us remember it's words here...Amen and AMEN! Let us remember it's words here that are forever remember....and hardly forgotten. True to life too. We are all in sensitive positions -- and I have truly come to realize that couples make VERY separate decisions for LIFE -- and WHO AM I TO JUDGE?! This is a daily reminder....and I fall more often than I stand to this statement. If anything from recent blogging on medical wives -- I have been blessed to know different paths and advice from women -- in very opposite positions -- and I have been truly humbled to listen. Thank you to those who have expressed your opinion openly, honestly, and sincerely. I hope that the blogging bonds of professionalism continue. I appreciate everything these past few months from readers who have taught me a new way of seeing life....I thank you.Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00282099593877623959noreply@blogger.com
